Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late James Perry and Jeannie Sue Coleman Smith. He was retired, and was a member of Chiquola Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam and was the recipient of a Purple Heart.
In addition to his wife Lynn, Mr. Smith is survived by two sons: Ronald Dain Smith and wife Aubrey of Taylors, and Adison Talor Smith of the home; and two grandchildren: Perry and Bo Smith.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Jimmy and Joe Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Tuesday, February 4th at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Powell officiating. Burial will follow at M. J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans’ Cemetery.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Tuesday from 11-12:00 prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
