Born in Williamsburg County, he was a son of the late Dewey Cleveland and Lucy Bell Powell Barfield. He was of the Pentecostal Faith and was a retired carpenter.
Surviving are three sons, Rushton Cleveland Barfield, Jr. and wife Amanda of Honea Path, Dewey Charles Barfield of Searsmont, ME, and Brian Keith Barfield of Morrill, ME, a sister, Joyner Carne of North Charleston, SC, and two grandchildren, Trey Barfield and Lily Barfield and several special nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by three sisters, Nancy Warren, Betty Koester, and Henrietta Guyton.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
