Born in Caddo, OK, he was the son of the late Lathan and Adell Wallace Bedwell. He was a member of Moshat Baptist Church in Centre, AL and attended Columbia Baptist Church. He was retired from Timken. Butler was an avid University of Alabama fan.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 37 years of the home are: two sons, Mark (Kristy) Bedwell of Centre, AL and Lathan Butler (Stephanie) Bedwell of Fountain Inn; his daughter, Hannah (Joshua) Bedwell of Belton; his sister, Dianne (Carl) Nicholson of Glencoe, AL; three grandchildren, Zach, Chase, and Emilee Bedwell, all of Centre, AL; a special cousin, Darryl Vines of Mount Juliet, TN; and several special nieces and nephews.
