Marty Kelley

Marty Blair Kelley, 68, of Hampton Avenue, died Monday, May 25, 2020 at his home.

Born in Washington D.C., he was a son of the late James Anderson and Mildred Dalton Kelley. He was of the protestant faith.

A lover of non-fiction, Marty read an average of 2-3 books per week, and until recently, was a weekly visitor at Anderson County Libraries.

For the majority of his life, his passion was Major League Baseball and he was, inarguably, an expert on it's history, stats, and the rules of the game.

Marty was a graduate of Anderson University with a BA in English, where he distinguished himself by winning the English Department Award for Excellence—as a Junior. He also worked in the library, which was a dream job. Through the online graduate program at USC, he had completed substantial work toward his Master's degree in Library and Information Science.

Mr. Kelley is survived by two sisters: Dalton Blankenship and her husband Norman, and Gemma Kelley, all of Honea Path.
