Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Ronald Leon and Sue Schewbert Shirley. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and mechanic.
Surviving are a daughter, Cari Shirley of Greenwood, sisters, Carol Shirley Burdette of Belton and Becky Reynolds (Bobby) of Waterloo and grandchildren, Keagan Quarles and Raelyn Cobb. He was pre-deceased by a brother Tommy Smith and a sister Debbie Wilson.
