Born in Piedmont, she was a daughter of the late Ben and Cora Lee Linder Poole. She was a homemaker, and a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband of the home, Mrs. Hitt is survived by one son: Benny Earl Taylor of Pelzer; two daughters: Cathy Linda Manley of Pendleton and Melanie Lee Hitt of Fountain Inn; seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and many special cousins.
She was preceded in death by one son: Samuel Gilbert Taylor.
Graveside Services will be held at Bethany Baptist Church at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 25, with Melanie Hitt, Rev. Carroll Plemmons, and Rev. Tim Edwards officiating.
