Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Roy Gary and Gladys Brock Smith. She had formerly been a member of Honea Path First Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Surviving are: her son, Russell Ashley of Anderson; two daughters, Ruth Ashley of Anderson and Ruby Lollis of Donalds; and her sister, Alice (Carroll) Areheart of Ravenel, SC.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Richard “Goose” Smith and her brother, Herman Dennis Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 4 P.M. Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Crocker officiating. Private burial will follow.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 3-4 P.M. Weds at the funeral home prior to the service.
