Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Leabron and Marie Baldwin Mattison. He was a member and deacon of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He had worked for many years including Riegel Textile Print Shop and as Manager of Carolina Tool Company in Ware Shoals. He retired from both Ingersol Rand of Honea Path, and Dixie’s Guns and Ammo of Ware Shoals.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are a son, Damas Mattison (Beth) of Ware Shoals, a brother, Michael Mattison of Antreville, a sister Kathy Hawthorne (Steve) of Abbeville, two grandchildren, Chloe Landrigan (Joshua), and Mason Mattison, and one great grandchild, Eleanor Landrigan. He was predeceased by his parents and one brother Don Mattison.
A private service will be held at a later date.
