Bobby Higdon

Donalds – Robert “Bobby” Eugene Higdon, widower of Shirley Day Higdon, of East Main St., died Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood.

Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Franklin and Carrie Walker Higdon. He was a member of Donalds Baptist Church and was retired from Duke Power Oconee Plant. He was a member of the Independent Lodge #23 A.F.M.

Surviving are a son, Deryl Higdon (Donna) of Donalds,  a daughter, Patty Lynn Marshall of Lancaster, six grandchildren, Jason, Barbara, Jennifer, Carrie, Dylan, and Randy, and eleven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Keith Franklin Higdon, a brother, Billy Higdon, four sisters, Cleo Scott, Evelyn Scott, Lucille Phillips, and Shirley Scott, and a granddaughter, Taylor Marshall.

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Donalds Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. James Ray Lollis officiating. The family requests that social distancing be observed and masks be worn.

Friends may pay their respects between 11 AM and 1:30 PM  on Thursday prior to the service at Pruitt Funeral Home, Honea Path. The family is at the home of his grandson, Jason Higdon, 281 East Main St., Donalds. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com
