Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late Wylie William and Bessie Louise Alverson Griffin. She was a member of Sharon Pentecostal Holiness Church and was retired from Riegel Textile Co. She had devoted her life to her children.
Surviving are a son Daniel Chapman (Jill) of Anderson, two daughters, Lorraine Sams (Charlie) and Jean Bayne, both of Greenville, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and her parents she was predeceased by two sons, Mike Chapman and Ronny Davis, two brothers, Ed and Jack Griffin, a sister Ruby Brown, and 4 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 12 o’clock on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Branch Church (formerly Sharon Pentecostal Holiness Church) 4033 Neely Ferry Rd., Laurens SC. Lunch will be served following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to The Branch Church, 4734 Neely Ferry Road, Laurens, SC 29360.
