Clarice Kay

Honea Path – Clarice Irene Darby Kay, 98, widow of Frank Kay, of Shaw Street, died Thursday, January 14, 2021 in Abbeville.

 

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Sloan Allen and Kate Wilson Darby. She was a member of Honea Path Church of God and retired from Ryobi Technologies. She was twice married, first to the late John A Greer.

Surviving are: her son, William Allen (Kathy) Greer of Abbeville; two sisters, Wilma Lusk of Craytonville and Alice Faye Darby of GA; four grandchildren, Brad (Cassie) Dixon, Tyler (Victoria) Greer, Casey (Katie) Greer, and Christopher (Clair) Greer; five great-grandchildren, Maily Ngo, Nora Dixon, Mya Dixon, Phillip Greer, and Joseph Greer.

Mrs. Kay was preceded in death by her brother, Thurston Darby; and four sisters, Ruth McCuen, Clelia Cannon, Annie Haynie, and Thelma Davis.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Honea Path Church of God with Rev. M. Eric Shuler officiating. Social distancing and masks are required. Private burial will be held at a later date.
