Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Thomas Berry and Maggie Pace Davenport. He attended Ware Shoals Pentecostal Holiness Church. He retired from Riegel Textile Corp.
Surviving are two sons, Willie Thomas (Harriett) Davenport of Greenwood, and Arthur Leroy (Jennifer Patterson) Davenport, Jr. of Ware Shoals, three daughters, Mary Hovis (Dale Bradford) of Ware Shoals, Sarah (Robbie) Greene of Newberry, Barbara (Tim) Bunch of Easley, two brothers, Charles Thomas Davenport and R. Dean Davenport, both of Ware Shoals, and one sister Sarah Fortner of Stanley, NC, 13 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, and two daughters, Loucindy Davenport and Tammy Davenport, and one great-granddaughter, Stephanie Winchester.
Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Friday, January 29, 2021 at Laurens City Cemetery, Laurens with Rev. Raymond Stonell and Rev. Mitchell Wray officiating. Masks and social distancing are recommended
