Bob Shaw

Donalds – Bobby “Bob” Joe Shaw, 85, husband of Diane Beasley Shaw, of Willie Kay Road, died Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.

 

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late William Blythe and Carie Evans Shaw. He was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, having served during the Korean War. While serving in the Air Force, Bob began coaching several sports. After his military service, he became the athletic director for the towns of Chester S.C. and Marion S.C. He retired from Liberty Life Insurance as a district manager. He previously worked at The Belton Corporation and The Greenville News. Bob loved to play golf and skeet shoot.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife of the home are: a son, Kevin (Melanie) Shaw of Central; his daughter, Donna (Mickey) Turner of Marion; a sister, Vicki (Tim) Galloway of Williamston; his sister-in-law, Carolyn Jean Shaw of Belton; three grandchildren, Kemp Collins, Mick Turner, and Megan Metz; several great-grandchildren; and his beloved companion, Smokey.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Michael Dennis Shaw, his brother, William Steele Shaw, and a sister, Sue Bale.

Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Donalds Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jason Sturkie officiating. The family request that mask be worn and social distancing observed.
