Nancy Jeter

Ware Shoals – Nancy Leanora Painter Jeter, 74, wife of Dexter Jeter, II, of Dairy Street died Sunday, April 4, 2021 at the Hospice House in Greenwood.

Born in Greenville she was a daughter of the late Charles D. and Willie Louise Phillips Painter. She was a member of Mt. Gallagher Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who loved life, her family, and loved to joke. She was a 1965 graduate of Berea High School.

Surviving are her husband of the home, a son, Eddie Walling (Amber) of Greenville, a daughter, Cindy McCarty (Buster) of Chappells, a sister, Kathy Mays of Greenville, five grandchildren, Courtney McKenzie, B.J. McCarty, Cory Walling, Alex McCarty, and Blake McCarty, a special niece, Ashley Martinez (Junior) and a great niece Gaby. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother Charles Daniel “Danny” Painter, Jr. and a sister Joann Durham.

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Greenville Memorial Gardens with Rev. Marcus Bishop, Rev. Floyd Parker, and Rev. Dan Compton officiating.
