Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Alex and Annie Belle Scoggins Smith. She was a member of Mt Bethel Baptist Church where she was a member of the church choir and The Happy Agers. Mrs. Lewis retired from the Honea Path Police Department. She was the past President of the Fleet Reserves Association Ladies Auxiliary and had also served as the Ombudsman for the USS Davis DD937.
Surviving in addition to her devoted husband of the home are: two sons, Michael Wayne (Dana) Lewis of Anderson and Robert Scott (Suzanne) Lewis of Honea Path; five grandchildren; Dustin, Caroline, Chandler, Hunter, and Parker; and one great-granddaughter, Chloe Rose.
Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Shelby Jean Keasler.
Memorial services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Mt Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Kreiger officiating.
