Winford “Wimpy” Cain

Princeton – Winford “Wimpy” Ray Cain, 81, husband of Betty Faye Brooks Cain, of McCullough School Road, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at his home.

 

Born in Bladenboro NC, he was a son of the late Jack and Myrtle McCumbie Cain. He was a member of Columbia Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Army. He was retired from Orchard View Meats. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 31 years of the home are: his son, Jack Cain, Sr. of Panama City, FL; three grandchildren, Tiffiany Cain, Summer Cain, and Jack Cain, Jr.; and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Cain was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Odell Cain and Charles Cain; and two sisters, Norma Jean Williby and Isabelle Cain.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Columbia Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Brooks officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens with Rev. Carroll Caldwell officiating.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 11 – 12 noon Sunday at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to the Dunklin Fire Department, 11353 August Road, Honea Path, SC 29654.
