Betty Davenport

Donalds – Betty Jane Porter Davenport, 75, widow of Ralph Dennis Davenport, of Highway 252, died Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood.

Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Jacob and Nettie Jane Brooks Porter. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and had worked at both Riegel Textile Co. and Monsanto and was a long time caregiver to many disabled and elderly people.

Surviving are two daughters, Robbie Sexton (Jerry) of Donalds and Amy Hart (Brian) of Travelers Rest, a brother, Cecil Porter of Easley, three sisters, Lois Ridgeway of Williamston, Ethel Banks of Ninety-Six, and Margaret Crane of Princeton, and three grandsons, Jeremy(Anna), Trevor(Marlee), and Tyler Hart. She was predeceased by two brothers, Don (Pete) Porter and J. M. Porter, and two sisters, Frances Clark and Nancy Bryant.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 3 PM at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Nix and Rev. Dusty Martin  officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM on Saturday at Parker-White Funeral Home, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, Box 420, Ware Shoals, SC 29692. Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com.
