Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Larry Furman Benton and the late Brenda Smith Owen. He attended Holiday Church, and worked as a foam technician for Global Refrigeration.
In addition to his wife of the home, Mr. Benton is survived by three sons: Dalton Benton (Madalynn) of Honea Path, Edgar Benton of Honea Path and Nicholas Phillips of Belton; three daughters: Jessy Benton of Honea Path, Julieann Benton of Honea Path and Savannah Benton of Honea Path; two brothers: Cory Owens (Jamie) of Honea Path and Dennis Benton of Piqua OH; and his granddaughter Jolene Benton.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Nicole Benton and his step-father Carroll Owens.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 8 at 3:00 PM at Holiday Church in Ware Shoals with Rev. Byron Wood officiating.
