Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Russell and Betty Gilmer Alverson. He attended Honea Path Church of God of Prophecy and was the retired owner of Alverson’s Body Shop.
Surviving are: a daughter, Tracy (Craig) Donald of Anderson; his son, Ryan Branyon of Abbeville; his brother, Dale (Julie) Alverson of Ware Shoals; and a grandson, Dennis Nash.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Lynn Alverson; his sister, Shirley Ann Blanton; and a grandson, Brandon Nash.
Funeral services will held at 2 P.M. Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Crocker officiating. Burial will be private.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 1-2 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Cancer Association of Anderson, 215 E. Calhoun St., Anderson, SC 29621.
