Mary “Mickie” Jennings

Ware Shoals - Mary Glenna Doar Jennings, 59, of Kathryn Way, Ware Shoals, wife of Robert “Bob” H. Jennings, Jr., passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

Born in Vicenza, Italy, She was the daughter of Wanda Ayers Doar and the late Samuel Carr Doar. She was a member of Mt. Gallagher Baptist Church, Ware Shoals. She was a 1980 graduate of Landrum High School and 1984 graduate of Erskine College with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She worked as State Training Coordinator for S.C. Endeavors, Department of Social Services. Mickie always enjoyed spending time at the beach in the sunshine and her love for family was always evident.  She was above all a Christian and served her Lord faithfully. She loved spending time with her six grandchildren who always brought her much joy. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and Mimi.

She is survived by her husband of the home, her mother of Landrum, three sons: Matthew Robert Jennings (Brittany) of Fort Mill, Zachary Taylor Jennings (Graylyn) of Fort Mill, and Thomas David Jennings (Cullen) of Anderson; two brothers: Samuel Carr Doar, Jr. (Mandy) of Landrum and John David Doar (Clair) of Greenville; six grandchildren: Tillman Haynes, Conner Matthew, Cole Thomas, Carter Robert, Mary Charlotte, Selah Jane Jennings.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Mt. Gallagher Baptist Church in Ware Shoals with Rev. Nathan Wiles and Rev. Dr. Marcus Bishop officiating and her brother, Mr. John Doar, presenting the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family is at the home and will receive friends at Mt. Gallagher Baptist Church 1:00 to 2:30 on Saturday before the service.
