Allen Ashley

Honea Path – Allen Lane Ashley, 77, of Griffin Farm Road, died Friday, August 5, 2022 at his home.

 

Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late Horace Benjamin and Frances Idelle Lowe Ashley. He was a member of Mt Bethel Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army and SC National Guard Veteran. He was an Auctioneer and Real Estate Broker with his company, Double A Auction and Realty. Allen was the Founder and Commander of Sons of Confederate Veterans John Thomas Ashley Camp. He was a member of Centre Lodge #37 A.F.M. and a Shrine member of over 50 years. Allen served as Past President of Tri City Shrine Club. He was also a member of Craytonville Fire Department.

Surviving are: his daughter, Mary Linden Ashley and her husband Jason Levi Barnes of Honea Path; his sister, Sylvia Ashley Lollis of Belton; nephews, Rick and Joe Lollis; and many special friends and other special family members, especially beloved friend Julia Barnes and dear friends Jerry and Sheila Parker.

Graveside services, with Military Honors and Masonic Rites, will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, August 8, 2022 at Mt Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mark Krieger officiating.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 10-11 A.M. Monday at Mt Bethel Baptist Church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Camp 43 SCV, in care of Sam Atkins, 828 J.T. Ashley Road, Honea Path, SC 29654 or the Mt Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
