Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Spears and Gladys Owings Cheshire. She was a member of Honea Path First Baptist Church and was formerly a member of Lakeside Baptist Church of Albany, GA where she served as a GA leader for many years. She was a retired administrative assistant for the Lee County School System in Leesburg, GA.
Surviving are her husband of the home, three sons, Melvin Glen “Trey” Ashley, III (Megan) of Port Charles, FL, Christopher Lee Ashley (Shanna) of Locust Grove, GA, and Lucas Blake Ashley (Iris) of Kapoei, HI, and ten grand children, Cameron, Evan, Harper, Piper, Quinn, River, Lucas, Vanessa, Kai, and Alana.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, September 2, 2022 at the Honea Path First Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Williams and Rev. Jason Webb officiating. Entombment will follow in the Garden of Memories..
The family is at the home, and will receive friends from 10:30 to Noon on Friday at Honea Path First Baptist Church prior to the service.
