She was born in Boiling Springs to the late Thomas Landrum and Ila Mae Morris Pruitt. She was retired, and was a member of Philadelphia Church of God.
In addition to her husband of the home, Martha is survived by her son Joe Stokes II (Teri Jo) of Ware Shoals and his daughter Amy Quarles of Woodruff, four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her three brothers.
