Henry Miller

Honea Path – Henry J C Miller, 96, widower of Mattie Hochstetler Miller, formerly of W. Greer St., died Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Holmes County, OH, he was a son of the late Joe C and Susanne E. Miller Miller. He was a member of Whispering Pines Mennonite Church, and worked as a painter. He was the most gentile, patient and kindhearted man you would ever meet. He was a loving father and grandfather, and loved the Lord.

Mr. Miller is survived by his son John Miller and wife Linda of Belton, his daughter Ruth Hershberger and husband Donnie of Honea Path, nine grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, his son-in-law Willy Plott.

He was preceded in death by two sons: Paul and Jessie Miller; his daughter: Anna Mae Plott; eleven brothers: Melvin, Davie, Christ, Eli, Abe, Joe, Andy, Monroe, Aden, Atlee, and John; and three sisters: Emma Yoder, Susie Miller, and Ada Gingerich; and an infant brother and sister.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, October 7, 2022 at Whispering Pines Mennonite Church with Rev. Myron Mullet, Rev. Tommy Hershberger, and Rev. Joe Hershberger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family is at the home of his daughter Ruth: 6904 Highway 20, Honea Path. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6-8 PM at Whispering Pines Mennonite Church.
