Born in Charleston County, he was a son of the late Andrew James, Jr. and Ada Rebecca Barnes Hodge. He was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church of Troy. He was a 1965 graduate of Manning High School in Clarendon County. He retired from Moore Business Forms where he had worked for 35 years.
Surviving are his wife of the home, a son, Michael Hodge of Kirksey, a daughter, Andrea Hodge Kristiansen (Eric) of Aiken , four sisters, Carol Rebecca Flowers of Geneva, FL, Malinda Alsbrooks of Conway, Lottie Maxine Crawford of Greenwood, and Deborah Morrow of Lincolnton, GA four grandchildren, Michael Hodge, Jr., April Hodge, Walker Kristiansen, and Grant Kristiansen.
He was pre deceased by two brothers, David Allen “Bubba” Hodge, and John Howard Hodge.
A memorial service will be held 3 PM on Monday, Dec. 19, 2022 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 820 Mt. Carmel Road, Troy, SC 29848 with Rev. Myra Taylor and Rev. Donny Black officiating.
