Alfred “Pete” McGaha

Honea Path – Alfred “Pete” Bates McGaha, 79, widower of Sadie Doris Fisher McGaha, of Harper Street, died Friday, December 30, 2022 at his home.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Humphrey and Katherine Adams McGaha. He was a member of Donalds Church of God and was retired from Ray Walker Trucking of Piedmont.

Surviving are a son, Darrell McGaha of Honea Path, two daughters, Sharon Crosby of Honea Path and Tammy Alewine (Robert) of Donalds, three brothers, Edward McGaha of Honea Path, Tony McGaha (Debbie) of Honea Path, and Douglas McGaha of Lakeland, FL, a sister, Wanda Gambrell (William) of Honea Path, three grandchildren, Serah Alewine, Lindsey Crosby,  and Tabitha Pelfrey, three great-grandchildren, Landyn Pelfrey, Adason Pelfrey, and Brooklynn Pelfrey.

In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by a son Curtis McGaha, a brother, Jerry Dean McGaha, and a sister, Carolyn Corbin, and two grandchildren, Courtney Jo McGaha and Knisley Crosby, and a great-granddaughter Katlynn Doris Applewhite.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Donalds Church of God with Rev. James Ray Lollis officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Honea Path.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Pruitt Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com
