Dollie Garner

Belton – Dollie Mae Standard Garner, 95, widow of Lawrence Elliot Garner of Belton died Saturday, February 4, 2023 at her home.

Born in Franklin County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Lela Reece Standard. She was of the Baptist faith and was retired from her work as a seamstress for Metric. She was an avid gardener and loved fishing.

Mrs. Garner is survived by her son Rufus Dale Garner (Donna) of Anderson, three sisters: Margie McCoy, Betty McGee and Frances Whitfield; eight grandchildren: Micky Garner (Jackie), Phil Garner (Jamie), Tammy Latimer, Mark Garner (Jana), Eric Garner (Megan), Tanya Randall (Brad), Kayla Williams (Derek) and Wesley Looney (Nicole); twenty-five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Rev. Freddy Dean Garner, her daughter-in-law Juanita Garner, two stepsons: Calvin Garner and Alfred Garner; three brothers: C. D. “Doc” Standard, Eddie Standard and Billy Standard; three sisters: Lela May Murphy, Beatrice Minor and Kathleen Brown; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 7 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel in Honea Path with Rev. Tim Edmonds officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
