Joe Billy Alewine

Honea Path – Joe Billy Alewine, 69, widower of Patricia Ann Strickland Alewine, of Keowee Rd, died Sunday, February 19, 2023 at his home.

 

Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late James Wesley and Gertrude Gambrell Alewine. He attended Crossroads Fellowship Church when his health allowed. He was a retired painter. Joe Billy was an avid rabbit hunter and was a past member of Rabbits Unlimited.

Surviving are: two sons, Kenneth Lee (Samantha) Alewine and Joseph Kevin (Jennifer) Alewine, both of Donalds; a niece, Rose (Bobby) Stewart of Honea Path; a brother, Benny (Cheryl) Alewine of Honea Path; a sister, Lucy Shaw of Honea Path; seven grandchildren, Coltin, Caty, Tanner, Brooke, Taylor, Christine, and Caine; three great-grandchildren, Keegan, Kypton, and Charlie; and a host of friends and rabbit hunting buddies.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Ronald Alewine and JW Alewine; and a sister, Annie Alewine.

Memorial services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Crossroads Fellowship Church with Rev. Paul Cooper officiating.

The family is at the home of his son, Kenneth, 817 Dodson Rd, Donalds, SC and will receive friends from 1 – 2 P.M. Wednesday at the church prior to the service.
