William "Bob" Robert Elledge, Jr.

Greenville - William Robert Elledge, Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Greenville, SC on Saturday, February 18th.

He was born in Anderson County on December 29th,1956 and raised in Honea Path SC.

Bob was a football star at Belton Honea Path High School, a Philo while attending Erskine College and graduated from Lander College in Greenwood SC.

After college, Bob followed in his father’s footsteps and with his extraordinary personality, he launched an extremely successful career as a State Farm Insurance Agent.  Bob and his staff (Joyce, Deborah and Trina) were awarded and recognized nationally for their outstanding performance for 32 years. Bob served on several community boards and was always quick to help people in his community.

Bob made friends wherever he went in life. He was a story teller, joke teller and music lover (rock n roll, blues and folk, especially John Prine and Bob Dylan)   Bob was a planner of get-togethers, an orchestrator of entertainment and friendships! He brought people together for his annual “Bobby Leroy” golf tournament, for beach trips, ski trips, river rafting trips, camping trips… gatherings at his lake house or his beach house.. or in his world travels….. He was the “Sultan of Fun”!  Wherever he went, he always came back home to his roots and his beloved Mama in Honea Path.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents William Robert Elledge, Sr. and Myrtle Leach Elledge. Left to cherish his memory are his precious son, William Robert (Bo) Elledge,III, Haley Keely and granddaughter, Wilhelmina Sage Elledge of Boise, Idaho… together with a whole host of family and friends.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, February 26th at the Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held later this year with a date to be announced. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the charity of their choice……like a good neighbor!
