Born in Chesnee, he was a son of the late William Franklin and Lucy Mae Sanders Jonas. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Boiling Springs and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was retired from his work in commercial wall coverings.
Mr. Jonas was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his two nieces, Faye Barras and her husband Bennie of Summerville and Kim Owens and her husband Sammy of Cowpens.
He was preceded in death by four brothers: James, Tom, Bobby and Donald Jonas; three sisters: Mary Lois Armstrong, Delia Green and Jeanette Tilley.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel in Honea Path with Rev Ty Childers officiating. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories.
