Michael Hall

Honea Path – Michael Edward Hall, 77, husband of Lillian Brock Hall, of Ervin St., died Monday, April 10, 2023 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Honea Path, he was a son of the late Julian Edward and Edith McAlister Hall. He was a member of the Honea Path First Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Honea Path High School Class of 1963, and received an AA degree from Anderson College, a BA degree from Erskine College, and a Masters Degree from Clemson University. He was an educator, administrator, and coach, having served Anderson District 2 for many years. He began at Honea Path Middle School, was assistant coach at BHP High School, Principal of the Belton Elementary School, and retired as Principal of the Honea Path Middle School. He was a member of the Honea Path Lodge #37 A.F.M.

A Sergeant in the U.S. Army, he was a veteran of the Vietnam War and Purple Heart recipient having served with the 199th Light Infantry Brigade in the Iron Triangle and the Mekong Delta.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Brock Hall of the home, two daughters, Michele Hall Martin (Eddie) of Honea Path and Leigh Hall Callaham (Brent) of Belton, a sister, Betty Gurrad (John) of Belton, and four grandchildren, Elise Harris (Kevin), Jenna Hahn (Logan), Faith Callaham, and Jessica Callaham.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Honea Path First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Josh Phillips officiating. Burial with Masonic and Military Rites will follow in Eastview Cemetery.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 P.M. Thursday at the Honea Path First Baptist Church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Honea Path First Baptist Church, 100 South Main St., Honea Path, SC 29654 or to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
