Bessie Darby

Donalds – Bessie Marie Brock Darby, 47, widow of Michael Dean Darby, of Winona Church Road, died Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Self Regional Medical Center.

 

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Samuel and Sarah Frances Clamp Brock. She was a member of Honea Path Church of God of Prophecy and had worked at Blair Mill. Bessie was a tremendous pet lover and loved to travel. Upon her death, she continued her legacy of love by being an organ donor.

Surviving are: her fiancé, Sam Rhodes of the home; two step-sons, Zachary (Hope) Rhodes and Brandon (Keith) Rhodes; two brothers, Thomas Lee Brock of Spartanburg and Travis Ray (Amber) Brock of Honea Path; five sisters, Elaine (Ricky) Vaughn of Belton, Ann Brock Bobby) LaPorte  of Honea Path, Wanda Dyer of Donalds, Wilma Brock of Honea Path and Tonya (Joey) Gilstrap of Honea Path; nieces and nephews that she helped raise, Kaylee (Jesse) Waters, Evan Brock, Taylor Galloway, and Kaelynn Brock; her beloved pets, Rip, Kitty Kitty, and Diamond. She was preceded in death by her four legged son, Hornie.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Crocker, Rev. Robert Beaver, and Mr. Rocky Vaughn officiating. The family request all those that attend to please wear bright colors.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 2-3 P.M. Thursday at Pruitt Funeral Home, Honea Path prior to the service.
