Brandon Medlin

 Ware Shoals – John Brandon Medlin, 50, of  East Main St. died Saturday, September 30, 2023.

Born in Waycross, GA, he was a son of Olivia Traynham Medlin and the late Bennett Martin Medlin. He was a member of Mt. Gallagher Baptist Church.

He was a  1991 graduate of North Cobb High School, Ackworth, GA, received a BS degree from Gardner Webb University in 1996 where he had a full Football Scholarship, and Teacher Certification from Clemson University in 2000.

He began his career as Ware Shoals District 51 as a teacher and coach, later serving at Carolina Springs Academy, Greenville Mental Health Center, Emerald Center Multi County Board of Directors, Greenville Disabilities and Special Needs, and GLEAMNS Human Resource Commission.

He is survived by his mother, Olivia Medlin of Ware Shoals, a son, Jonathan Foster (Kami) of Myrtle Beach, siblings, Jennifer Medlin Barrett (Joseph) of Indianapolis, IN, Allison Traynham Carroll (Scott) of Lexington, and Ryan Traynham Boulton (Eric) of Buffalo, NY, Thomas Milton Traynham II (Becky) of Chapin, and four grandchildren, Ruston, Olive, Ivory, and Copper.

Brandon was predeceased by his father, Bennett Martin Medlin, who died on March 29, 2020, Bennett was a son of the late John Bennett and Julia Martin Medlin, a 1965 graduate of Ware Shoals High, and attended Clemson College. He was survived by a brother John R. Medlin(Teresa) of Ware Shoals, a sister, Rebecca “Becky” Seawright (Jackie) of Gainesville, FL, twelve grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

A Memorial service for Brandon and Bennett will be held at 4 PM on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Mt. Gallagher Baptist Church with Rev. Nathan Wiles and Rev. Dr. Marcus Bishop officiating.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends from 3 to 4 PM Friday at Mt. Gallagher Baptist Church prior to the service. In Leiu of flowers memorials should be made to Mt.
