Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Charles Edward, Sr and Annis Suit Cooper. He was a member of Durst Avenue Church of God. A graduate of Greenwood High School he was retired from Duke Power Company, Buzzards Roost Generating Site.
He is survived by his wife of the home, two sons, Charles “Tripp” Cooper, III (Shelley) of Donalds, and Joseph Roy Cooper of Donalds, five grandchildren, Kayla Swink (Heath), Kaitlyn Cooper, Kelsely Grogan (Matthew), Joseph Chandler Cooper, and Jonathan Cole Cooper, and eight great-grandchildren, Savannah, Jace, Ramey, Dawson, Aubrie, Charliegh, Stella, and Emry.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two sisters, Faye Thompson and Kay Devore.
