Janice Simpson McDonald

Ware Shoals – Janice Simpson McDonald went to heaven on Monday, October 30, 2023.  She fought a long courageous battle with cancer and remained positive throughout. She was a graduate of Ware Shoals High School and attended Winthrop College. Janice enjoyed gardening, crosswords and other word puzzles, and liked watching game shows on TV. Reading was one of her favorite interests. She was a hard and faithful worker with many years as a retail training coordinator in Dallas and Plano, TX. After returning to SC, she was employed at Consolidated Tires in Greenville in accounts payable until she retired when she loved trips to the beach and mountains.

Janice was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Macie Lollis, her son Mark Stephen McDonald and granddaughter, Helen Phalon.

She is survived by her daughters, Ann McDonald Summerville, Lynne McDonald Nashville, TN.,  a granddaughter Sara Lunday North Adams, MA., and a sister Linda Simpson Ware Shoals.

Until prevented by health issues, Janice was a faithful member of Ware Shoals First Baptist Church and the T.E.L. Sunday school class. Many church members and friends including a special “uplifting” team helped her when she was unable to stand, move around the house, or getting to and from the car for appointments. Much love, appreciation, and good health status until the past few months are attributed to wonderful care and kindness at Self Regional Cancer Center by oncologist, Dr. Joanna Sadurski, infusion nurse, Kimbrell Freeman, and the entire infusion staff.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Ware Shoals First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Floyd Parker and Rev. Leon Jones officiating and followed by a private graveside at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Donations may be made to American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or Ware Shoals First Baptist Church. Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com
