Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Leonard Jeru and Marian Beatrice “Patsy” Fortner Cothran. He was a member of Gethsemane Church, a 1975 graduate of Ware Shoals High School and a member of Sons of Confederate Veterans, Laurens Chapter,
Surviving are his wife of the home, two sons, Brandon Cothran of Ware Shoals and Shane Henderson of Waterloo, a daughter, Tonya Knight of Ware Shoals, a sister-in-law, Ruby Cothran of Ware Shoals, five grandchildren, Landon Cash Cothran, Colton Henderson, Blake Bates, Christopher Baldwin, and William Childs, and two great-grandchildren Jacob Baldwin and Peyton Childs.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Leonard Cothran, Jr.
A Memorial/Worship service will be held at 10:30 AM on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Gethsemane Church, 5010 US-25, Hodges, with Rev. Mark Lowe, Rev. Keith Fields, and Rev. Ron Lewis officiating.
