Lee Kennon Abrams, Sr.

Ware Shoals – Lee Kennon Abrams, Sr., husband of Betty Jane Irvin Abrams, of Highway 252, died Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Self Regional Healthcare, Greenwood.

Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Lee Arthur and Nettie Kennon Abrams. He was a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church. A Vietnam Veteran, he retired as SMSgt after over 23 years of service in the U.S. Air Force serving in the SAC. He was a founding father of the Western Laurens Fire Department.

Surviving are his wife of the home, a son, Lee Kennon Abrams, Jr. (June) of Ware Shoals, two daughters, Pamela Jane Chapman (Kenneth) of Ware Shoals, and Sharon Simmons (Todd) of Ware Shoals, a sister Harriett Koon of Tupelo, MI, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents and a sister JoAnn Gunter.

Memorial services with Military Honors will be held at 1 PM on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Vincent Davis officiating.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends after the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, 844 Mt.
