Chris Bowyer

Ware Shoals – John Christopher "Chris” Bowyer, 52, husband of Beverly Ann Irby Bowyer, of Ekom Beach Road, died Sunday, December 3, 2023 at his home.

 

Born in Anderson County, he was the son of Nancy Jean Chastain Bowyer Burgess and the late Charles “Chuck” Spencer Bowyer, III. He was a member of Crossroads Fellowship Church and a retired member of the Broadmouth-Turkey Creek Fire Department, where he served his community for over 30 years.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife of the home and his mother of Williamston are:his son, Bradley (Chelsea) Bowyer of Honea Path; two brothers, Jody (Crystal) Burgess of Marietta and Daniel (Dana) Burgess of Belton; two sisters, Mary Coker of Belton and Amy (Tim) Schaefer of Williamston; a grandson, Greyson Bowyer of Honea Path; three step-grandchildren, Elaina, Bella, and Daryl; several nieces and nephews; and friends that he considered brothers.

Chris was preceded in death by his father; his maternal grandparents, Cliffton and Nettie Chastain; his paternal grandparents, Charles and Evelyn Bowyer; and his beloved dogs, Molly and Sadie Jane, who passed away along side Chris at their home on Sunday.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel, Honea Path with Rev. Paul Cooper officiating. Burial with Full Firefighter Honors will follow in Garden of Memories.

The family is at the home of his mother, 120 Cromer Road, Williamston, SC and will receive friends from 12-2 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorial donations be made to The Chris Bowyer Fund, PO Box 266, Honea Path, SC 29654.
