Marion McMahan

Greenwood – Marion William McMahan, 77, husband of Shirley Dillingham McMahan of Greenwood, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood.

Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Clarence Hubert and Caroline Estelle Kay McMahan of Ware Shoals. He was a member the First Presbyterian Church of Ware Shoals. Marion served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1969 in Vietnam. He graduated from Ware Shoals High School in 1964 and later went on to graduate from Erskine College with a business degree. He was retired from the City of Clinton where he worked as a water plant operator. Marion loved spending time with his family and was an avid photographer. 

Surviving are his wife, Shirley, of the home, two daughters, Karen Turner (James) and Julie Gallop (Jason) both of Greenwood, a brother, Michael Eugene McMahan of Ware Shoals, a sister, Kay McCoy (Keith) of Ft. Mill, four grandchildren, Kayci and Anna Kay Chrisley, Liam and Emma Gallop, and a great grandson, Kasen.

He was predeceased by his parents and an infant daughter, Pamela Allison McMahan.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at the First Presbyterian Church of Ware Shoals with Rev. Wayne Wicker and Rev. Kevin Cartee officiating. Entombment with military honors will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Parker-White Funeral Home, Ware Shoals.
