Johnny Knox

Honea Path – John William Knox, 85, widower of Felicia Linda Knox, of Hwy 252, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Lindley Park Post Acute.

 

Born in Honea Path, he was the child of the late Fred Marshall and Annie Mae Coker Knox. He was a member of Chiquola Baptist Church. Mr. Knox was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired in 1980 as a Master Sergeant from the K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base and the 87th FIS Fighter Interceptor Squadron (Red Bulls) after 20 years of service. Later in life, he also retired from Bausch and Lomb. Johnny loved restoring tractors and working on motorcycles.

Surviving are: three sons, Shawn (Michelle) Knox of Honea Path, Courtenay (Christy) Knox of Belton, and Fred (Kristal) Knox of Honea Path; five grandchildren, Caleb Knox, Marissa Knox, Gabbi Knox, Monroe Knox, Riley Knox, and 1 more on the way; and his significant other, Rosemary Moore.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Chiquola Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Powell and Rev. Mark Thomas officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Garden of Memories.

The family is at the home of his son Fred, and will receive friends from 12 – 1 P.M. Tuesday at the church prior to the service.
