Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late James Clifton and Muriel Gabriel Wright. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was former owner and operator of Sunken Garden. He always loved working in the outdoors.
Surviving are two sons, James Henry “Jim” Wright, Jr. of Hodges and Keith Summer (Faye) of Ware Shoals, four grandchildren, Richard Summer, Don Cooper, Theresa Hannah, and Tammy Peel, eight great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by a brother Bruce Wright.
