Jean Oxner Long

Waterloo – Emma Jean Reeder Oxner Long, 89, widow of Howard G. Long, died Sunday November 10, 2024 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood.

Born in Cross Hill, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth Mills and Willie Josephine Brown Reeder. She was twice married, first to the late John Henry Oxner. She was a member of Kings Chapel UMC and attended First Baptist Church of Cross Hill. She was retired from Jostens Plant of Laurens.

Surviving are a son, John H. Oxner, Jr.(Christina) of Walterboro,  two daughters, Pamela Willingham (Doug) of Enoree, and Jane Hawkins (Ken) of Ware Shoals, two sisters, Joyce Southerland of Greenwood and Jo Norris (Gene) of Mountville, fourteen grandchildren, Angie Wrenn (Jordan), Beverly Johnsen, Douglas Willingham, Jr. (Audry), Dallas Willingham (Jessica), Calvin Ray Covan, Jr., Joshua Covan, Michele Bird (Shawn), Marsha Pittman, Ken Hawkins, Jr. (Lindsey), Shanon Oxner (Char), Will Oxner (Jessica), Drennon Oxner (Teanna), Karston Oxner, and Maggie Oxner, twenty five great-grandchildren, Lea Ostroff (Andrew), Lexi, Nicholas, Britni, Briana, Douglas, III, Addy, Lyla, Liliahana, Ray III, Brooke Cox (Matthew), Justin, Ashley, Erin Gonce (Matthew), Shilah, Samantha, Spencer, Waylon, Eleanor, Brendalynn, Emma, Mya, and Novalee, and nine great-grandchildren, Kane, Raelyn, Mattilyn, Casyn, Rylee, Mila, Evelyn, Vera, and Jett.

She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Billy Ray Reeder and Mills Reeder, and a sister Nannie Bell Grubbs.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at the First Baptist Church of Cross Hill with Rev. Brett Davis and Rev. Robbie Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in Hill Cemetery, Waterloo.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM on Wednesday at the church prior to the service. Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com.
