Maurine Emerson Davis

Ware Shoals – Maurine Emerson Davis, 87, widow of William Roy Davis, formerly of East Cork Street, died Saturday, January 18, 2025 at NHC of Greenwood.

Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Willie Calvin “Killdee” and Margaret Grace Martin Emerson. She was a member of the Ware Shoals First Baptist Church.

A graduate of Ware Shoals High School, she was retired after 38 years of service from The Monsanto Co. where she was an avid member of the Bowling Team.

Surviving are two sons, Phillip Roy Davis (Tammy) of Ware Shoals  and Kent Emerson Davis (Teresa) of Hodges, a daughter, Cynthia Maurine Davis of Ware Shoals, a sister Sue Armstrong of Simpsonville, five grandchildren,  Ashley Faye Henderson (Heath), Kayla Ann Bowen (Kent), Kaitlin Shae Davis (Latham),  Tai Nguyen (Melissa) and Mai Garvin (Josh), and ten great-grandchildren, Kase Bowen, Kaylee Bowen, Madilyn Jo Zahn, Will Nguyen, Haden Nguyen, Jordan Lovett, Max Garvin, Stella Garvin, Annie Garvin, and Laila Garvin, and a special niece, Anna Pitts.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Willie C. Emerson, Jr. and Bobby Eugene Emerson, and three sisters, JoAnn Clamp, Joyce Adams, and Gayle Horne.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at the Ware Shoals First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Floyd Parker and Rev. Leon Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Oakbrook Memorial Park.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM on Wednesday at the Ware Shoals First Baptist Church prior to the service. Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com
