Born in High Shoals, GA he was a son of the late Walter Tom and Mae Belle Brooks Gosnell. An outdoorsman he was a veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. After his retirement he worked at Cincinnati Milacron of Greenwood and the Walmart Distribution Center of Laurens.
Surviving are a son, Bobby Lewis Gosnell, II(Melinda) of Ora, a daughter, Lynn Gosnell Thompson (Stan) of Hickory Tavern, a brother, Edward Aaron (Sabrina) of Alabama, a sister, Pearline Gosnell Smith of Monroe, GA, three grandchildren, Ryan Gosnell, Heather Gosnell, and Ashley Sprouse, and five great-grandchildren, Ryder, Dakota, Max, Oliver, and Lorenzo.
Graveside services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Hodges, SC.
