Born in Laurens County she was a daughter of the late Henry Lee and Velma Olivia Hopkins Pitts. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. A graduate of Ware Shoals High School, she was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills as payroll clerk.
Surviving are one brother, John Pitts (Marie) of Ware Shoals, seventeen nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by five brothers, Neil, Wilbur, Charles, Carl, and Arthur, three sisters, Martha Henderson, Betty Gibert, and Janet Copeland, and four nieces and nephews.
