Born in Simpsonville, she was a daughter of the late Henry Jacob and Nettie Jane Brooks Porter. She was a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, a graduate of Hickory Tavern High School, and the former owner and operator of the Princeton Café.
The last of her immediate family of 10 children, she is survived by a son, Thomas Crane (Judy) of Laurens, a daughter, Tammy Ashley of Princeton, four grandchildren, Candice Kolongowski (Matty), Tiffany Crane, Matthew Ashley (Joanna), and Emily Adair (Ethan), and six great grandchildren, Brendan Watts, Lilly Watts, Kaylee Franklin, Lucas Ashley, Elias Ashley, and Norah Ashley.
In addition to her husband Gentry, and her parents she was predeceased by 3 brothers, James Porter, Don Porter, Cecil Porter, and six sisters, Alice Porter, Frances Clark, Nancy Bryant, Betty Davenport, Ethel Banks, and Lois Ridgeway.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Friday, May 22, 2026 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Boggs, Rev. Melvin Shelton officiating. Burial will be private at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends form 12 noon until 1 PM Friday at Pruitt Funeral Home prior to the service.
