Born in Centre, AL, he was a son of the late James Robert and Annie Jo McKerley Alexander. He was of the Baptist faith and was a retired construction worker
Surviving are his wife, Donna of the home, a son, John Alexander Jr. of Ninety Six, a daughter, Leisa Reynolds of Greenwood, a step-son, Phillip Trotter of Greenwood, a step-daughter, Kimberly Rowe of Hodges, two brothers, James “Robbie” Alexander of Greenwood and Jeffery Alexander of Ninety Six, two sisters, Martha Roberts and Shirley Partain both of Ninety Six, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Freida Crawford.
