Honea Path – Charles “Chip” Monroe Mitchell, 76, husband of Betty Hughes Mitchell, of 308 Oak Drive Ext. died Friday, April 11, 2008 at AnMed Health Center.

Born in Honea Path, he was a son of the late Howard B. and Esther Shirley Mitchell. He was a member of the Honea Path First Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S.Air Force. He was retired from The Commercial Bank, Donalds.

Surviving are his wife of the home, a son, Charles Daniel (Dan) Mitchell of Belton, a daughter, Susan Mitchell Edenfield of Guyton, Ga., a brother, Rev. H. Barry Mitchell of Belton, a sister, Margaret M. Graham of Mt. Pleasant, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday at the Honea Path First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Moody officiating. Burial will follow in the M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery, Anderson.
