Ware Shoals – William Frederick “Bill” Foxworth, 86 of 44 Circle Street, husband of Mary Johnson Foxworth died November 11, 2008 at The Hospice House in Greenwood.

Born in Richland county, he was a son of the late Henry and Margaret Foxworth. He was a member of Ware Shoals First Baptist Church, lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion and was a former P.O.W. He served in the US Army during WWII and was held as a POW for 26 months.

Surviving are his wife of the home, granddaughter; Tonya Foxworth Cooper of Greenwood, two adopted grandchildren; Wesley and Karen Traynham of Waterloo, and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Thursday at Ware Shoals First Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Jones officiating. Burial with Military honors will follow in Oakbrook Memorial Park, Greenwood.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 P.M. Thursday at First Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave. Greenwood, SC 29646. The family is at the home. Online condolences may be made at www.parkerwhitepruitt.com.
