Ware Shoals, S.C. Betty Lou Holcombe McAuliff Speer Columbia, 78, formerly of Ware Shoals, died Friday, February 13, 2009 at Collier Hospice Center, Wheatridge, Colorado. She was born in Greenville, SC, a daughter of the late Otis Holcombe and Mattie Howell Holcombe. She was of the Baptist Faith .
Surviving are: her husband, Donald Columbia of the home, Arvada, Colorado, four sons; Daniel H. MCAuliff, Ware Shoals, Merle Speer, Oregon, Clayton Durham, Marietta, SC, Randy McCain, N.C. ; four daughters, Teresa Durham, Greenville, SC, Connie Johnson, Kathy Johnson and Karen Speer all of Colorado.; one sister, Marion Williams, Greenville, SC.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 pm Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Ware Shoals Cemetery with Rev. Ted Gaines officiating.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery.
